Description:Deiodo amiodarone is a noncompetitive inhibitor that binds to the active site of the enzyme and blocks the binding of substrate, thereby inhibiting the synthesis of catecholamines. Deiodo amiodarone has been shown to inhibit the oxidation of benzofuran derivatives in rat liver microsomes, human liver tissue samples, and chromatographic conditions. The inhibition constant for deiodo amiodarone was determined by liquid chromatography with a homogenizing technique.
