Description:Indanofan is an inhibitor of the enzyme fatty acid synthase (FAS) and mitochondrial cytochrome. It inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and IL-6. Indanofan also inhibits lipid biosynthesis by inhibiting the activity of fatty acid synthase, which catalyzes the conversion of acetyl CoA to malonyl CoA. As a result, less fat is stored in cells and more energy is available for cellular processes. In addition, indanofan has been shown to be an effective agrochemical against bacterial strains that are resistant to other antibiotics.
