N-[1-(R)-(-)-(1-Naphthyl)ethyl]-3-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1-aminopropane hydrochloride is a synthetic compound that is used for the treatment of hyperparathyroidism. It inhibits parathyroid hormone (PTH) synthesis by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for PTH synthesis, which is called adenyl cyclase. This drug also binds to calcium ions and inhibits their release from bones and teeth. N-[1-(R)-(-)-(1-Naphthyl)ethyl]-3-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-1-aminopropane hydrochloride has been shown to be effective in treating skin cancer in animal models. It has also been shown to have a reaction mechanism in which it binds to DNA, preventing transcription and replication through inhibition of RNA polymerase.
