Auristatin E is a cytotoxic agent that is composed of a monoclonal antibody conjugated to the potent anti-tumor agent, dolastatin 10. This drug has low potency and minimal toxicity, and it targets intracellular targets such as the microtubule network. Auristatin E has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo against cancer cells. It has been found to be effective against tumor cells that express the CD20 antigen, including t-cell lymphomas. This drug also targets cytoplasmic disulfide bonds, which are required for the stability of many proteins.
