Product Information

Name:
PD 0166285
Controlled Product
Description:

PD 0166285 is an inhibitor of kinase activity. It binds to ATP-binding sites on the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), preventing binding of the ligand and inhibiting downstream signaling pathways. PD 0166285 has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human HL60 cells and skin cancer cells in culture. This drug also inhibits hyperproliferative diseases, including skin cancer, breast cancer, and lung cancer. PD 0166285 induces apoptosis through activation of caspases 3 and 7, which are key enzymes involved in programmed cell death. In addition, it inhibits angiogenesis by blocking the production of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) from vascular endothelial cells that line blood vessels. PD 0166285 also blocks urothelial carcinoma progression by inducing apoptosis in these cells.
