WHI-P180 binds to the intracellular targets of mcf-7, a growth factor involved in cell proliferation, which leads to neuronal death. This agent has also been demonstrated to be cytotoxic against monoclonal antibodies and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). WHI-P180 targets ABCG2, an enzyme involved in drug efflux, which may lead to increased efficacy of this drug.
