Description:M2I-1 is a molecule that has been shown to cause death in vitro. M2I-1 interacts with the pro-apoptotic protein Bax, which leads to the activation of caspase and apoptosis. The interaction of M2I-1 with Bax prevents the inhibition of mitotic checkpoint and induces cell death through programmed cell death. In cancer cells, M2I-1 can induce cell death by inhibiting the activity of chk1. It has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on nocodazole-induced mitotic arrest.
