Product Information
Erlotinib is a cancer drug that inhibits the activity of tyrosine kinases, which are enzymes involved in the regulation of cellular signaling. It causes an increase in reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial dysfunction. Erlotinib has been shown to have inhibitory properties against inflammatory lesions and is currently being investigated as a potential biomarker for cancer. This drug also has a potential use in vivo as a model for solid tumours, such as ovarian cancer and breast cancers. Erlotinib binds to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication. The high frequency of human activity has been shown using a patch-clamp technique on human erythrocytes. This active form is metabolized through a number of metabolic transformations, including hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases, oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione reductase, or conjugation with glucuronic acid. Erlotinib also specifically binds
