5-Chloro-2- (4-methoxyphenyl) -4-methyl-6-[3-(1-piperidinyl) propoxy] pyrimidine is a research tool that can be used in the study of ion channels and protein interactions. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of human recombinant beta 2 adrenergic receptor at low micromolar concentrations, with an IC50 of 5.1±0.5 μM. The binding affinity for this ligand is stronger than that of propranolol (IC50=8.5±0.7 μM).
