Isoliquiritin is a natural compound found in licorice root that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer activities. Isoliquiritin is able to regulate the signal pathways by binding to DNA and modulating transcriptional regulation. It also has a matrix effect on mitochondrial membrane potential and regulates the cell cycle in a synchronous fluorescence experiment. Isoliquiritin can be used as an analytical method for studying glycoside derivatives. Isoliquiritin may inhibit drug interactions with drugs such as warfarin and digoxin due to its interaction with toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) pro-apoptotic protein.
