- 3-Phenoxazone-7-(beta-D-galactopyranoside)
- Resorufin -D-galactopyranoside
- 3-oxo-3H-phenoxazin-7-yl beta-D-galactopyranoside
Resorufin-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a compound that is commonly used in research and diagnostic applications. It is a substrate for beta-galactosidase, an enzyme that cleaves the glycosidic bond between galactose and other functional groups. This cleavage produces resorufin, which is highly fluorescent and can be easily detected. Resorufin-beta-D-galactopyranoside has been used to study the activity of beta-galactosidase in human tissues, as well as in bovine serum and other biological samples. It has also been incorporated into hydrogels and nanoparticles for targeted delivery of active compounds. In addition, resorufin-beta-D-galactopyranoside has been used to study the binding of estrogen to its receptor, as it forms a planar structure that mimics the shape of estrogen. Its fluorescence properties have also been used to develop assays for plate readers and other
