3′-Hydroxyflavanone is a flavanone that is found in the roots of the plant C. cardamonum. It can be converted to cardamonin and 3′-hydroxychalcone through glucuronidation by human UDP-glucuronosyltransferase. 3′-Hydroxyflavanone has been shown to increase the production of chalcones, which are flavonoids with an important role in plant physiology. This compound also has antimicrobial activities against bacteria, fungi, and viruses.
