Product Information
SC144 is a synthetic peptide with immunosuppressive activity. It binds to the CD4 receptor on T cells and blocks their activation. SC144 also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines by macrophages, which may be responsible for its therapeutic effects in Alzheimer's disease. This compound has been shown to inhibit neuronal death induced by beta-amyloid peptides in vitro and to promote neuronal plasticity and regeneration of nerve fibers in vivo. The therapeutic efficacy of SC144 has been demonstrated in mouse models of diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, leukemia, pancreatic cancer, and pancreatitis.
