AZD9567
Description:

AZD9567 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the enzyme phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) that has been shown to reduce glucose levels in diabetic animals. It also has antiviral activity against influenza A, as well as anti-inflammatory effects in mice with experimental arthritis. AZD9567 has been studied for safety and efficacy in phase I trials for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and inflammatory diseases. The drug has a terminal half-life of 6 hours in healthy subjects and 8 hours in patients with chronic kidney disease. There are no significant changes in pro-inflammatory cytokines during chronic treatment with AZD9567 and it is well tolerated by women, making it an attractive candidate for clinical development.
