Product Information
Veledimex is a molecule that inhibits the transcription factor NF-κB. NF-κB is a protein complex that regulates the expression of genes involved in inflammation, apoptosis, and immune response. Veledimex has been shown to inhibit glutamate release from neurons and reduce the expression of inflammatory proteins such as COX2 and TNFα in human fibroblasts. Veledimex also inhibits cell growth and induces apoptosis in cancer cells by inhibiting the expression of death-associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1) and cell signaling pathways such as caspase activation. This drug has been tested in multicenter phase II clinical trials for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infection, hepatitis B virus infection, and cancer. It has also been evaluated for its ability to treat Alzheimer's disease through immunofluorescence analyses of sequences encoding amyloid precursor protein (APP).
