Loureirin D is a natural product isolated from the leaves of Loureirinha tree in Brazil. It is an analytical standard for HPLC and has been used as a reference material for research and development of new drugs. The chemical structure of Loureirin D consists of a phenyl-4-pentenoic acid moiety with an esterified group at the 5-position.
Loureirin D has shown to have antitumor activity, cardioprotective effects, anti-inflammatory effects, and antioxidative activity. It has also been shown to have antiviral properties against influenza A virus and HIV-1 virus.
