Aligeron is a drug that was developed to treat epilepsy and depression. It has been found to inhibit the flow of calcium ions into nerve cells, which may be related to its anti-convulsant activity. Aligeron also blocks noradrenaline channels, which may be related to its antidepressant effects. The titration method uses papaverine in order to determine the optimum dosage of Aligeron for a patient's condition. The drug is used clinically in experimental models of carotid stenosis and hypertension. There are no known side effects or contraindications associated with Aligeron.
