MBX2546 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the receptor binding site of the influenza virus. It prevents viral entry into host cells, thereby preventing infection and stabilizing the virus. MBX2546 has been shown to be effective against both human and animal influenza A viruses in cell culture, including pandemic influenza strains such as H1N1. This drug also inhibits replication of avian influenza A viruses in chicken embryos. MBX2546 has not shown any significant effects on non-target organisms or on the human body.
