Carbovir is an antiviral drug that inhibits the replication of human herpesviruses. The drug is active against a variety of viruses, including those that cause herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella zoster virus (VZV). Carbovir has been shown to have inhibitory effects on viral DNA synthesis in human serum, as well as on the activity of target enzymes such as dna template and blood sampling. These inhibitory levels are dose-dependent. Carbovir has been shown to be safe for use in individuals with congestive heart failure and liver impairment. However, it should not be used in patients who are taking other drugs or have other medical conditions, because it may cause dangerous interactions.
