CGP 52411 is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to have potent anti-cancer activity. It inhibits the proliferation of human leukemia cells by inducing apoptosis, and can also induce autophagy in HL-60 cells. CGP 52411 has also been shown to inhibit the oxidative injury of mitochondrial membrane potential in an in vitro model system. This compound has been shown to have preventive effects on myocardial infarct and atherosclerotic lesions, which may be due to its ability to scavenge free radicals.
