Product Information
SLF is a colony-stimulating factor that belongs to the family of cytokines. It is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the IL-2 receptor, which is expressed on the surface of hematopoietic stem cells and other cells. SLF has been shown to be effective in decreasing psychotic disorders in patients with schizophrenia. SLF also induces proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic progenitor cells and enhances colony formation of hematopoietic progenitors in vitro, suggesting it may have therapeutic potential for leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF)-deficient mice with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). The molecular pathogenesis of AML has been investigated using kinetic data obtained from an in vivo animal model. The data show that SLF inhibits hepatic steatosis by decreasing the activity of lipogenic enzymes such as fatty acid synthase and acetyl-CoA carboxylase, while increasing the activity of peroxis
