Product Information
Caspase-3/7 inhibitor I is a potential anticancer agent that inhibits the apoptotic pathway. It has been shown to inhibit muscle cell proliferation and induce autophagy. Caspase-3/7 inhibitor I also blocks the release of proinflammatory cytokine TNF-α and reduces the level of reactive oxygen species by inhibiting mitochondrial membrane potential. The drug has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro, but not in vivo. Caspase-3/7 inhibitor I is also a potent antimicrobial peptide as it can kill bacteria, such as methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), in vitro and in vivo. This drug is an intracellular protein, which means it cannot cross the plasma membrane barrier to enter cells.
