Product Information
BF 227 is a radioactive, nitrogen-containing molecule that has been shown to have mutagenic properties. It is also used as a diagnostic compound in the detection of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer's disease patients. BF 227 binds to these plaque deposits and can be detected using positron emission tomography (PET). BF 227 has an affinity for amyloid plaques and is labeled with carbon-11 or fluorine-18. This allows it to act as a diagnostic agent for Alzheimer's disease by detecting the presence of amyloid plaques in the brain.
