Product Information

Name:
GQ-16
Description:

GQ-16 is a synthetic fatty acid that has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity. It binds to the PPARγ receptor and activates it, which inhibits lipid accumulation in the liver and reduces hepatic steatosis. GQ-16 also has an anti-inflammatory effect on adipose tissue by inhibiting the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNFα. GQ-16 also increases expression of genes that promote energy expenditure and fat oxidation, leading to decreased fat mass and increased lean body mass. GQ-16 is a potent inhibitor of lipogenesis, increasing the rate of lipid oxidation, decreasing circulating free fatty acids, reducing hepatic triglyceride content, increasing mitochondrial oxygen consumption rates, and increasing whole body oxygen consumption rates.
GQ-16 may be used for the treatment of obesity or diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM2).
