GSK726701A inhibits the production of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in lps-induced TNF-α functional assays. This drug also has good pharmacokinetic properties and can be administered orally. GSK726701A is expressed in microglia and astroglia cells, which are cells in the brain. It has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth and inflammatory diseases by inhibiting the production of TNF-α.
