MIND4-17 is a synthetic dinucleotide phosphate that is activated by reactive oxygen species. It has been shown to activate the transcription factor CREB, which regulates the expression of genes involved in synaptic function, cell nuclei, and oxidative injury. MIND4-17 has been shown to prevent oxidative damage in wild-type mice and radiated mice, as well as decreasing body mass index and preventing degenerative diseases. MIND4-17 activates CREB response elements in corneal endothelial cells and amp-activated protein kinase (AMPK) responses in mouse liver.
