Product Information

Name:
AZD7624
Description:

AZD7624 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) that has been shown to reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines in patients with cancer. AZD7624 inhibits p38 MAPK by binding to its ATP-binding site, thereby preventing activation of the enzyme. The effects of AZD7624 on cytokine production are specific for activated cells, as it does not inhibit cytokine production in vivo from unstimulated cells. This drug has been shown to reduce inflammation in preclinical models of inflammatory disease, and is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of asthma. In addition, this drug may have utility as an anti-inflammatory agent for other conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
