Product Information

Name:
AMT Hydrochloride
Description:

AMT is a drug that inhibits protein synthesis. It is used in the treatment of cancer and other disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease. AMT inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines by inhibiting the activity of guanylate cyclase. This inhibition also decreases the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which alters signal pathways involved in cell growth and differentiation. The mechanism of action for AMT is not well understood, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit cyclase enzymes. The drug has been shown to have no effect on fatty acid metabolism or glomerular filtration rate in humans, but it has been shown to lower the rate of protein synthesis in rats with mesenteric lymph nodes.
