RPH-2823 is a novel synthetic compound that has been shown to have tissue-specific activity in the distal convoluted tubule of the kidney. It selectively inhibits fatty alcohol oxidation and has been shown to reduce blood pressure at low doses. RPH-2823 does not interact with other drugs and is administered orally as a tablet or capsules. RPH-2823 is also a potent natriuretic, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid reabsorption by binding to the apical membrane of the proximal tubule.
