Product Information
Dequalinium chloride is a natural product from the marine sponge Dendrilla membranosa. It has been shown to have senolytic properties in human cells and to inhibit cancer cell proliferation. Dequalinium chloride induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells by binding to the nuclear receptor RARα, which is involved in gene expression. This compound also inhibits the production of chloride ions, which are required for cellular growth, and causes a decrease in body formation by inhibiting DNA synthesis. Dequalinium chloride also has a chemical diversity that includes being an all-trans retinoic acid analogue with cardiac glycoside activity and a cytotoxic effect on c. parvum (a protozoan parasite).
