TCH-165 is a new chemical entity that has been shown to have anti-cancer properties. It inhibits the activity of the protease cathepsin B, which is involved in cancer progression and tumor growth. TCH-165 also enhances autophagy, a process by which cells clear damaged proteins and organelles that are no longer needed. The molecular structure of TCH-165 was modeled on computer and its binding site was predicted using computational chemistry methods.
