Product Information
BTD is a metal ion that binds to lysine residues on the histones, thereby altering gene transcription. BTD has been shown to enhance chemokine production in mammalian cells and stimulate hematopoietic cells to express functional genes. BTD also has an effect on linear regression analysis of cardiac waveforms. There is homology between BTD and the enhancer-binding protein (EB) from Drosophila melanogaster. This suggests that BTD may function as a transcription factor by binding to cis-regulatory regions of DNA, which are sites where proteins bind to DNA to regulate gene expression.
