CCF-642 is a small molecule that inhibits the activity of hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIF-1) and VEGF. CCF-642 is a potent inhibitor of autophagy in primary cells and HL60 cells. CCF-642 has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo, as well as myeloid leukemia cell lines in vitro. CCF-642 also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNFα and IL1β by inhibiting NFκB signaling pathways. It has also been shown to reduce symptoms such as fatigue or malaise, which are associated with inflammatory diseases such as cancer cachexia or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
