Product Information

Name:
TC-G 1003
Description:

TC-G 1003 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the Kv1.3 voltage-gated potassium channel. This protein complex is involved in regulating the firing rate of neurons. TC-G 1003 inhibits this channel by binding to its extracellular ligand-binding domain, preventing it from opening and closing. This inhibition leads to an increase in neuronal excitability and an increase in the firing rate of neurons, which may be beneficial for treatment of neurological diseases such as epilepsy. TC-G 1003 also has been shown to block the human erythrocyte membrane ATPase (hEATPase) that transports adenosine triphosphate (ATP) across membranes during cellular respiration, which may lead to potential applications in treating respiratory disorders such as asthma or cystic fibrosis.
