Product Information

Name:
LUF7346
Description:

LUF7346 is a small-molecule drug that can be used to treat cardiac arrhythmia. It is an allosteric modulator of the voltage-gated potassium channel Kv4.2, which has been shown to reduce the incidence of cardiac arrhythmia in functional assays and in humans. LUF7346 binds to the Kv4.2 channel and changes its activity when a potassium ion binds to it. This change alters the flow of positively charged ions through the cell membrane, resulting in a reduction in heart rate and blood pressure. The molecular structure of LUF7346 has been determined by silico analysis and structure-activity relationship studies have demonstrated that it is able to bind to the Kv4.2 channel in a manner that prevents binding of other compounds on this channel, such as acetylcholine or bradykinin.
