Product Information
TC-I 2014 is a non-selective cation channel inhibitor that binds to the pore of voltage-gated ion channels. TC-I 2014 has been shown to inhibit calcium binding in human neurons, leading to reduced neurotransmitter release and decreased excitability of the neurons. TC-I 2014 also inhibits transcription and polymerase chain reactions. In whole cell patch-clamp experiments, TC-I 2014 has been shown to be an effective blocker of voltage-gated sodium channels in squid axons. It also has a chemical structure that closely resembles that of local anesthetics such as lidocaine and bupivacaine, with the main difference being that TC-I 2014 is not anesthetic.
