Product Information

Name:
NPS-1034
Description:

NPS-1034 is a compound that inhibits the transcription-polymerase chain reaction (PCR) activity of tyrosine kinases. The active form of NPS-1034 binds to the ATP site on the polymerase and blocks DNA elongation, which leads to cell death. This drug has been shown to be effective in treating cervical cancer cells in vitro, as well as being synergistic with platinum-based chemotherapy agents. NPS-1034 has pharmacokinetic properties that allow it to cross the blood brain barrier and enter the central nervous system, making it an attractive candidate for treating brain tumours or neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, this drug also has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) activation in human protein and cell culture studies.
