4-[6-Amino-9-methyl-8-(triazol-2-yl)purin-2-yl]butan-2-ol is a peptide inhibitor. It blocks the activation of ion channels, which are pores in the cell membrane that allow the passage of ions such as sodium, potassium, chloride and calcium. 4-[6-Amino-9-methyl-8-(triazol-2-yl)purin-2-yl]butan-2 -ol also blocks ligand binding to receptors, preventing cell signaling and protein interactions. This compound has been shown to inhibit ion channel activity in cells from both humans and rats.
