Product Information

Name:
MPI-0479605
Synonyms:
  • N6-Cyclohexyl-N2-(2-methyl-4-morpholinophenyl)-9H-purine-2,6-diamine
Description:

MPI-0479605 is a small molecule that inhibits the protein survivin. It is currently being developed for the treatment of cancers, such as bladder cancer and prostate cancer. MPI-0479605 prevents the mitotic checkpoint from arresting cells in mitosis, leading to increased apoptosis. In vitro assays have shown that MPI-0479605 suppresses bladder and prostate cancer cell growth at low concentrations by inhibiting survivin and inducing apoptosis. The molecular modeling study suggests that MPI-0479605 binds to a pocket on the surface of survivin and inhibits its activity, which may be due to the inhibition of ATP production in cells. In vivo studies showed that MPI-0479605 had no significant effect on blood pressure or heart rate in rats.
