WRN helicase inhibitor is a small molecule that inhibits the WRN helicase enzyme. WRN helicase inhibitor has shown an apoptotic effect in vivo, and induces apoptosis by inhibiting the mitochondrial membrane potential. This drug has also been shown to inhibit tumor growth in xenografts, and has been found to have no adverse effects on healthy cells. In addition, WRN helicase inhibitor has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of T-cell leukemia cells and mitotic checkpoint proteins.
WRN Helicase Inhibitor is still undergoing clinical trials, but it may be useful for treating solid tumors such as cancer.
