Name:
Elacestrant
Synonyms:
  • 2-Naphthalenol, 6-[2-[ethyl[[4-[2-(ethylamino)ethyl]phenyl]methyl]amino]-4-methoxyphenyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-, (6R)-
Description:

Elacestrant is a small molecule that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and blocking its downstream signaling. It has been shown to be effective against breast cancer cells that are resistant to palbociclib. Elacestrant is also a hydrogen bond acceptor and a hydrogen bond donor, which may contribute to its pharmacokinetic properties. Moreover, elacestrant has been shown to inhibit growth factor-induced proliferation in vitro and in vivo. Elacestrant has been studied for use in treating ovarian, endometrial, pancreatic and colorectal cancers with success.
