Product Information
GSK8814 is a small molecule that inhibits the activity of bromodomain-containing proteins (Brd2 and Brd3) by binding to their 'bromodomains'. It has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity against both Brd2 and Brd3, with IC50 values of 0.5 nM and 1.5 nM respectively. GSK8814 is currently in clinical development for cancer therapy. The molecular structure of GSK8814 has been determined using X-ray crystallography, providing important information on how it interacts with its target protein. GSK8814 also has potent anti-cancer effects in cells in culture and in mice models, which may be due to its ability to induce autophagy, a process whereby cells break down their own components for energy production when starved of nutrients. GSK8814 is being investigated as a potential therapeutic agent for cancer treatment because it may be able to inhibit the growth of new blood vessels
