Product Information
Ilaprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that inhibits the gastric acid secretion by binding to the H+/K+-ATPase in the gastric parietal cells. It is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Ilaprazole sodium has been shown to be safe and well tolerated in human subjects with normal renal function. The major side effects are diarrhea, headache, nausea, and constipation. Ilaprazole sodium is available as a tablet for oral administration or as an oral suspension for children 2 years old or older. Ilaprazole sodium also contains impurities such as metal ions and pharmaceutical preparations.
