Product Information
Estradiol 3-sulfamate (E3S) is a bifunctional derivative of estradiol that serves as a model for the sulfamoylation and sulfamate conjugation of estrogens. The sulfamoylation reaction is catalyzed by an enzyme called estrone sulfotransferase, which converts estrogen to E3S in vivo. The sulfamate group is then added by the enzyme glutathione S-transferase, which catalyzes the transfer of the reactive thiol group from glutathione to E3S. This drug has been used as an immunogen in rabbits and rats.
