LY 266097 Hydrochloride is a dopamine receptor antagonist that was developed for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It has been shown to be a potent antagonist at 5-HT2A receptors and activate them, which causes hyperlocomotion in rats. LY 266097 Hydrochloride also acts as a potent antagonist of 5-HT7 receptors and has been shown to have antidepressant effects in mice. The drug is also an antagonist of 5-HT2C receptors, and antagonizes serotonin reuptake inhibitor drugs such as fluoxetine (Prozac). LY 266097 Hydrochloride is a competitive antagonist of adenosine nucleotide at polymerase chain reaction (PCR) polymerase, leading to inhibition of DNA synthesis.
