Pyrisoxazole is a bacterial growth inhibitor that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the c1-c4 haloalkyl group, thereby inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids. It is also known as an anhydrous sodium salt and can be obtained in an anhydrous form. Pyrisoxazole has been shown to inhibit the growth of resistant mutants in vitro, and it has been used for this purpose as a control agent in foods and drugs. This active compound binds to the matrix effect, which is a hydrogen bond between two hydroxyl groups on adjacent carbons. The stereoselectivity of pyrisoxazole has been studied using a vitro test on bacteria. The inhibitory effect is mitochondrial cytochrome C1-C4. An analytical method for pyrisoxazole has been developed using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
