Product Information

Name:
RMC-4550
Description:

RMC-4550 is a potent inhibitor of CDK4 and CDK6, with IC50 values of 0.1 and 0.2 nM respectively. It also inhibits the growth of some tumor cells in vitro by inducing apoptosis. RMC-4550 has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of mouse mammary tumor cells in vivo and induce an antitumor response in mice bearing xenografts of human breast cancer cells. Additionally, RMC-4550 suppresses tumor growth by inhibiting the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and other growth factors, which may be due to its ability to induce phosphatase activity in vitro. The mechanism for this induction is unclear; however, it may be due to direct binding or activation of protein kinase C or inhibition of phosphatases such as protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B).
