Description:

Obtusifolin is a flavonoid compound that is found in cimicifuga foetida. It has been shown to have apoptosis-inducing activity and inhibitory properties against 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. Obtusifolin also has significant cytotoxicity in vitro, which may be due to its ability to induce the metabolic disorder of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and enzyme activities. This compound has shown anti-inflammatory activity in vitro and may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of mucin from the gene MUC5AC, as well as mitochondrial membrane potential.
