Namitecan is an angiogenic factor that belongs to the group of growth factors. It has been shown to stimulate the proliferation of endothelial cells and induce vascularization in animal models. Namitecan has also been shown to inhibit apoptosis in cancer cells, which leads to tumor growth and invasion. In addition, namitecan stimulates the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory effects. Namitecan is used in pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease, as well as solid tumours such as colon cancer and lung cancer.
