Product Information
AAPK-25 is a synthetic, small molecule that inhibits the activity of a protein called Bromodomain (BRD) and prevents cancer cells from dividing. BRD has been shown to be overexpressed in many cancers, including acute lymphoblastic leukemia, where it promotes tumor growth. AAPK-25 binds to BRD and halts cell division by blocking the expression of genes necessary for DNA synthesis, RNA transcription, and protein production. The binding between AAPK-25 and BRD has been shown to trigger cell death in vitro and in vivo using acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells as a model system. This drug has also been shown to have pro-apoptotic activity in various cancer cell lines.
